Submission Guidelines for Simple DCP

All source image files must be delivered with accurate data pertaining to color space, bit-depth, and gamma.

Frame Rates

Acceptable frame rates (frames per second) are as follows:

23.98, 24, 25, 29.97, 30, 47.96, 48, 50, 59.94, 60

*Simple DCP does not perform frame rate conversions, but will conform source material from 23.98 frame per second to 24 frames per second and 29.97 frames per second to 30 frames per second.

File-Based

Source files must be delivered on a hard drive formatted HFS, HFS+, NTFS, EXT2, EXT3, EXT4

Image Sequences

• Acceptable file formats: JPEG, TIFF, DPX, CINEON
  
• Must be delivered as sequential files accessible from one file directory
  
• No anamorphic images

Quicktime/MXF

• Acceptable codecs: ProRes (4444, HQ, 422), DNxHD, XDCAM-EX, DVCPROHD, AVC-Intra
• Under no circumstances will inter-frame codecs be accepted
• Client must indicate if providing audio source material in quicktime container
• Client must indicate intended aspect ratio of anamorphic material

Tape-Based

• Acceptable Formats: HDCAM, HDCAM-SR, DVCPROHD, XDCAM
• If submitting 23.98 fps source material with pulldown, only advanced pulldown will be accepted
• Client must indicate intended aspect ratio of anamorphic material
• Multitrack audio must be clearly labeled

Audio

• Must be delivered as discrete channels of 24-bit 48 kHz audio in either AIFF or WAV format
• Audio must match image (modulation will occur due to 23.98 to 24 or 29.97 to 30 conform process)

Academy Qualifying DCP

• Client MUST indicate need for academy qualifying DCP
• Only 23.98 or 24 fps source material will be accepted
• Resolution requirements:

  2K

  Full: 2048x1080
  16x9 (HD) - 1920x1080
  1.85 (Flat) - 1998x836 (padded to 1998x1080)
  2.39 (Scope) - 1588x858 (padded to 2048x858)

  4K

  Full: 4096x2160
  16x9: 3840x2160
  1.85 (Flat): 3996x1672 (padded to 3996x2160)
  2.39 (Scope): 3176x1716 (padded to 4096x1716)
